This Clawing Darkness is a rules-light tabletop RPG in which daring warriors descend into the complete darkness of monsters' lairs to do battle. Work together with your friends to cover all the angles your adversary might attack from. Play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse as you trade blows. Once you gain the upper hand, there's only one thing left to do: charge!
A GM is suggested, but the game supports GM-less play.
Made between June 21 and 23, 2024, for a Ludum Praxi game jam.

Absolutely loved this! Crafting a token to determine directional damage and to allow players to strategize about formations and whether or not to gamble on an attack is so tense and inspired! The creatures attack being lined up with a piece of string is so wonderfully simple and clever. The writing was wonderful and atmospheric. The only criticism I have is that it is too damn hard lol but that didn't stop my enjoyment. Excellent work!
